It's you...and summer

by Melissa Panther

I don't see the darkness anymore
All I see is you
beaming from the moon
playing a little melody
humming to the tune

Skipping off the stars
peaking through cotton candy clouds
sipping from the milky way
setting sights on mars

Craddling the sun slowly arching in the east
flirting with angels
wandering the night's city streets

Giggling with sunflowers that smile as you stare
taunting slender grasses that whisper as they
bend and bow and kiss the ground
A symphony of nature in the early morning air

Tangled in the summer breeze
swaying with the trees

Grinning from neighbors' porch beneath wind chimes
trickling tone of quiet force

Rolling along pebbles that tickle under your toes
swinging around the corner street poles,
sliding down melting rainbows
keeping hush hush so no one knows

Dancing over rooftops
sneaking past the heat
teasing me tracing dewdrops
You're a gentle feeling in my heart that never stops

That's when I begin to realize all the reasons why I love you
seriously silly to start to name a few
different and unique
respectable, honest, meak
lips lushing strawberry kisses
that make me all weak.

Standing so strong
an understanding that endures life-long
quiet and cute
touching words that render me mute

Deep within
chasing after me
filling me in
drawing me together
completing the circle
tieing end-to-end

It's you
and summer.

The summer season makes it easy to fall in love with it. Just like your words; wonderfully crafted.
