at its finest, jealousy

by Emily Davidson

she is,
most certainly,
an attractive girl
but it's more than that:

she's got the brains
to win him over;
all it takes is a name drop
here or there, or
an obscure fact about
something simple

she's got the attitude
to intrigue him just enough
so he's on his toes;
give him a little taste
of her sweetness, but then disappear
to keep him hungry

she's got the wit
to keep him smirking,
thinking:
i want this girl. i want her.

and i would hate her for being
so together
but, it's funny, you know
that people can just waltz through their lives
without knowing of the ones they're destroying

Author's Note: i can't really hate her if she has no idea the pain she's causing me.
