this is the time
that he normally calls and
i know it is a big mistake
to get too used to the idea
but i just can't help but
stare at the telephone
getting a little more nervous
with every passing minute
my heart racing
my thoughts soaring and coming
crashing when
it's 2am and i know
it's time to give up.
