Not enough time by Richard TrotterHunched in the space by morning
it dawns there is not enough time
to drink coffee and dance with friends,
nor learn about makes of cars,
dream about nights on mars.
Theres no time to waste on regrets,
buy clothes for your pets
revive the dreams that died
build up the courage to try,
count the stars in the lazy sky.
No time to write in rainbow ink
clean the troughs beneath the sink
spray paint the valley of death
perplexedby life's sweert joke
full of knowledge like a super size coke.
If the days were twice as long
I'd learn the lyrics to every song
take all the second chances,
sway to each sinking note
and time will beautifully gloat. 11/19/2006 Posted on 11/19/2006 Copyright © 2025 Richard Trotter
