They are more voiceless than adults, especially when preyed upon by those who should be taking care of them. A very touching and emotional poem, Mark. Would love to see this as POTD, as a reminder to think about children, since Christmas is soon - not every kid has a beautiful tree and stacks of presents beneath it. Some would give anything for a warm sweater or clean set of clothes.
