From bathos to pathos

What was the difference?

Usually within a work of literature

There is some form of anticlimax

That can be typically associated

With an unintentional lapse in mood

Ranging possibly from the absurd

Or even trivial

To the absurd.

In pathos, on the other hand

The effect is much more simpler.

Instead of such depth and emotion.

The quality in writing, speech

Or even a sequence of events

Merely evokes pity or sadness.

From bathos to pathos
