Superbowl Sonnet

by Joe Cramer

Was she out there, dancing in the moonlight
To a song or two as crooned by Sir Paul?
Somehow, the apparel just wasn't right
For such a presentation, all in all.
I can now see you, dancing in the dark
The hughest of smiles upon your sweet face.
Some sort of romantic, nocturnal lark,
Your silken hair flew, askew, out of place.
Would you dance with me, in darkest of eve?
Perhaps with attire, more desired.
The joy you felt, in which you do believe
Transcends all angst, carrying you higher.
What I would give now for such a dance
Throughout every nocturnal eve, perchance.

Author's Note: A good friend of mine spent the Jax Superbowl dancing on her balcony in her undergarments. This was my response.
