Plain and straight she stood
In the aisle, looking so forlorn
Without as much as a nod
Or even a kind word.

Hair neatly combed, quite the couture
Plain and straight she stood
Without a hint of painted face.
No one spoke, no one said

Nary a word.
She looked quite pretty
In that colour
Though no one noticed.
