Sex as Inspiration (Unfinished Piece)

by Malika Bierstein

I’ve been looking for someone
to inspire me as I seem to have lost
my muse and here you come, smooth
style strolling along, a rhythm to coat my blues.
Some may call it melancholy, the melody
that erupts in cerulean hues like lava
from between two well-balanced tables,
needles deep into their groove.
But when your essence finds me, awakening
moist places where energy flows
abundant and strong, the trigger
in my mind clicks and takes me right back to
where I belong. See people speak
of their happy places, safe spaces
that steer them away from the brink
of the same thing that makes me
reach for a pen, the very thing that drives me
to think. Like ink I drink you
in, slowly savoring the salt that dusts
your copper skin. Your body is a blank page,
series of poems I have yet to begin.

"Your body is a blank page, series of poems I have yet to begin."--Really like that. Great work.
