Summer Flows

by Joe Cramer

Summer flows away
As days shorten
And birds fly
Across the cloudless
Molten blue skies.
I walk slowly
In glistening gloom
As warm sun brushes my face
Softly settling in the west
Leaving, without a trace.
I watch the summer drift away
Azurous colored skies,
Streams of long light passing by
While the days shorten.
Summer flows away.
