or else I'd be next to you
breaking another wave on
distant land for all I'd
tried to come to moved on
and I'll break my own back
just to bring it but where
oh where am I going when
the light creeps under
such sheets that crinkle
under the lightest pressure
that I've kept myself under
to hide from all the ghosts
that I keep buried deep
within my heart that come
out to play when it screams
your name from a perfect
stand-still though you never
could stand still whether or
not I was willing to trot or
dodge to reach some sort of
compromise with your eyes that
glint and glare in the sky
that I would call your name
if one could dare to name
the heavens but I think all
my friends have been liars
whispered to me by my own
terrors that you embodied so
why should I be so surprised
that I immortalized you in
cold stone when I knew
that you were water?
