In The Land of Love

by Joe Cramer

As the second time around now fails
Will you indeed write about your travails?
Now a love gone, love's labours lost.
What now is left, what becomes the cost?

You turn to your friends, acquaintances
Now that the light of love has grown dim.
What will be the sum if occurrences,
What will next be your fancy, your whim?

So much for "I do" for now, and forever
And so much for good days and bad, regardless of whether
'Til death do us part, such a misnomer
In the land of love, there is no true owner.
