"Road Trip"

by Max Phineas

Went to see my third cousin-
twice

removed

(Removed, I ask, from what?)

License Plate Game
soon repels my interest
and the rolling marshmallows overhead
graced the sky with a dreamy un-reality.
(sister pokes fun at my knowledge of the clouds)

Cow country
evokes a hearty
"MOOOO"
from my father, the family Peanut Gallery.

Mom sings aloud to
Paul Simon

And Maya
the beloved Collie
hovers faithfully at my feet,
gingerly gnawing at my shoelace.

I vow

Never Again

will I complain about this life.

"MOOOO" from my father, the family Peanut Gallery."... lolololol... that would be my portrait in the family gallery as well....I often overstate the obvious so my children can have the great delight of picking me apart... great job of sharing your road trip.

You make a routine trip sound very pleasant indeed! A bit of wry humor, comfortable family relationships, a favorite pet! You should have no quarrel with life.
