A phenomen, called a syzygy
Happens twice a month
Lining up the earth, moon and sun.
Oh, the fun that has begun!

This month a perigee
Will coincide with the moon
At the closest point to the earth,
Bulging at the middle!

Usually only once in every four years
Affecting the tides and our folklores,
Tugging at our hearts,
And of course, our lives.

Sometimes a catastrophe
Or perhaps even a little fear.
More often coincidence
And a little fluctuation in tidal pools.
