Ode to My Ties

by Joe Cramer

Every morning
I watch my ties,
Sometimes planning
To wear
A particular one.
Often not.
Just seizing the day
And the whim as it strikes me.
Every day
In fun filled fanciful fullfillment
Smiling as I tie a four-in-hand,
Or a half Windsor know,
Knowing that somehow,
Someone will smile at my whimsy
Or at least share a kind word
Perhaps a compliment, or two.
Every morning
Without as much as a warning
I see my ties
Waiting for me,
Waiting for the day.
