A Liquor So Sweet

by Joe Cramer

I taste a liquor that is so sweet
Upon my lips, my mouth brushing yours.
So warmly, so passionately
It would take forever and a day
To kiss your lips, an eternity.
This is a trip that I would endeavor
To take daily, if for just a moment
Of time to be spent with you.

Can you tell how filled with love I remain?
The depth and the breadth of my heart
Leaves me forever inebriate of air.
A feeling that I have briefly known before
And am want to know again and again.
This journey, I would make
With you for all time.

The constancy of my passion
Leaves me with a strangeness
That I have known before
And have never known at all.
I offer myself up to you,
Lost in my abandon
Awaiting that sweet, simple kiss
Of your lips like a liquor
That is so very sweet, so very fine.

This one speaks to me of a romantic and sensual soul, not afraid to be real. The tone has a feel of John Keats, one of my all time favorite poets...very well done. As a romantic soul myself, I do know of this longing.. when you have time, do stop by again. Sending you happy holiday wishes from this side of paradise out here somewhere, under the swaying palms.. alisa ;-0
