Nightness

by Joe Cramer

I sit on a beach watching the weather change
The sky, this old curved dome glows
With etheral light, softly fading
As the sun dips, sets, disappears.
I watch the dusk fade into nightness,
Ever deepening, glistening gloom
As the harvest moon slowly shows
Its face above swaying ocean currents.
While the sky darkens I wait, sitting
Scrunched, huddled on crunchy sand.
My mind, alive in its wanderings
Waiting, blissfully watching the nightness.
