15 Minutes

by Joe Cramer

We all live in a world where beauty
Is far more than just skin deep.
Where our bodies are no longer temples
And our perceptions are skewed
By a Hollywoodian notion of what
Is real and what is not.
This world that we live in leaves no room
For error or mistakes, at least for 15 minutes.
In this short time, these 900 seconds
(In this Warholian notion of existence.)
Our lives flash before our eyes, that's it.
I, for one, plan on living a lot longer than that.
Saying more, staying longer than I suppose
I should, though I never thought I'd make it this long
And now, all that is left is the finish.
