Skeletons garden by Richard TrotterSkeletons toil the wasteland
scything through swathes
of dark oppressing ivy
tending weeds and burning seeds.
Nerveless fingers clear the mass
as albino snakes wriggle
over muddy rancid earth.
Poison roses in dirty bloom
smothered in everlasting wilt
joined by the claws
if brittle rooted thistle,
surrouding the darkness pit.
The beetle army on the march,
in a fog that breeds failure
with an easy seduction
over the precipice. 10/26/2006 Posted on 10/26/2006 Copyright © 2025 Richard Trotter
