We Have History by Deborah BreuerThere is a history between us,
One tracing back to times unfamiliar.
Do you remember when we were both young,
And there were no words conveyed?
Now, there are even less.
And its not because we have nothing to say,
The truth is there is too much.
And as we make dance floors out of dictionaries,
Looking for the right words to say,
I find that I have two left feet,
Stumbling over your literary elegance.
But thats not all that has me hypnotized.
Your sapphire eyes,
They speak in volumes,
As they articulate sweet nothings into my soul
Allowing me to lose myself within you,
Comfortably.
I am content,
You said,
As we strolled down the street,
Constructing an untainted history.
And now,
Some time later,
There is a history between us,
One tracing back to times familiar,
When you and I both knew ourselves better than before,
But said nothing.
And looking back on history,
Its full of nothings,
Knowing nothings,
Saying nothings,
And nothings. 10/25/2006 Posted on 10/25/2006 Copyright © 2026 Deborah Breuer

| Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 10/25/06 at 08:46 PM Hi Deborah. Sometimes it's difficult to know what to do....walk away, or stay and make something of nothing. Interesting read. Thanks. |
