wouldn't it be odd

by Peter Humphreys

wouldn't it be odd
if there was a god
who made all these
things for you and
me to touch and see
as adam and eve just
should have been
before they bit the
apple

wouldn't it be odd
if there wasn't a god
who made all these
things for you and
me but just a world
of chemical waste
and pain and haste
and dismal wars and
poverty

but if god did make
you and me and we
made all the things
he hates like wars
and violence and
greed perhaps he
went on holiday
and never did come
back

perhaps he weeps
somewhere for you
and me his dreams
to see in tatters

Hi Peter. Enjoyed this poem with its rather theocratic elements. Ponderous. Thanks.
