Fear

by Razel Davies

Don’t turn your back on fear,
The man said.
While I stared,
And scratched my head.
Don’t turn your back on fear,
He told me.
I don’t understand,
What does it mean?

Fires and pains,
Through the night.
I don’t want to feel,
I don’t like fright.
Why the darkness?
Why the fear?

Don’t turn your back on fear.
The man said.
But with fear,
I cannot stand to live.
What can I do?
What can I be?
I don’t want,
To fear me.

Fear is an important emotion. It can keep us from doing ourselves or others harm. We need fear to keep us in line. We need to respect it.
