Olive

by Joe Cramer

Her olive skin glistened, shone
Against my pale, wane complexion.
I must admit that I was
At the very least, chagrined.
Not knowing what to say
Or what to do for that matter.
I just wanted to be next to her
Smiling a silly smile while
We spoke. Perhaps, maybe I could
Brush my lips against hers.
Her olive skin glistened, shining
While she glowed next to me.
The rest of me glistened too
With anticipation as to what
Would be, or could be.
I never know exactly what to say.
