i wish i could capture it:
the sly look
over his glasses
and the curve of his lip
that doesn't quite
form a smile

the way he acts
is like a science
in which i don't know
the formulas or calculations
but it's
perfectly planned out
it is consistently
inconsistent
just enough to leave me
grasping curiously
on the edge of
intrigue

the way he
criticizes me
playfully
but cannot
look me
in the eye
and so i think:
maybe i'm not the only one
who's scared
