I Don't Blame You

by Joan Serratelli

I don't blame you
if you're mad at me
G-d knows, I've given
you enough reasons
but you've done the same
to me

I want us to be able
to go on from here;
to laugh and cry
and share stories
about each other's lives

Is that possible
after what has happened
or are we finally done?

We never have made much sense
our relationship
is one that perhaps
should never have been

But it was
and it will continue
whether you and I
want it to go on

Nothing lasts forever
except love
and whether or not
it was meant to be
the truth is that
it was

Hi Joan. Good for you....because when you blame others, you give up your power to change. Thanks for the read.
