Rammstein

by Vikki Owens

You and me
used to be
two against an
angry world.
Both of us wrapped around
each other, a front against
the gales of slaughter.
We were two children huddled
for warmth, twins surrounded
by a bubble,
our love and sympathy for each other
a fortress.

Now you've become part of the outside world.

Rammstein,
who do I have to go to now?
Where are your arms when I need them?
I cannot hold up against you, who am I to try?
