The Invincibility of Mom

by Deborah Breuer

Broken glass,
A distorted past,
Convinced it won’t last.
The ideals of the situation proving that long lasting love leaves even the most lucrative of couples.
And when counterparts divorce…
As they often do…
There is again, often left two.

The elder, but not necessarily wiser struggles,
Holding back tears,
Conquering fears,
And dodging metaphysical spears aimed for the cardiovascular muscle.
However, one cannot puncture the spirit, the essence, or the all-existing being of conception, giving LIFE to the world: one soul at a time, taking nothing in coin for return.
Only a smile, a wink, and a few infantile steps will do for today my child.
Such remittance will keep this maternal factory alive,
Producing PRIDE, LOVE, and unending FAITH in your ability to recreate the foul world in which we exist.

As Mother and Child, you are a part of me, the same energy
Composing prismatic venues weaving in and out and in and through, around, and up and down and so forth to the holiest of sacred places…
THE MIND OF THE MOTHER’S INTUITION,
Where time knows no limits and the duration of this mortal existence falls beyond the grave for as long as the eye can see,
And it has been said that “true love” lies in the eyes of a mother…seeing no end, no limitations, no restrictions to its magnitude and purity…
Such is the embodiment of a mother’s love for her child.
