Lie To Me

by Joan Serratelli

Lie to me

tell me that

you love me

Lie to me

tell me that

you care

Just lie to me

I don't mind

let me think

that I'm the

only one you love

Just lie to me

and make me

believe you

Lie to me

make me happy

before I leave

this earth

just lie to me

just this once

....please

Joan, it was none other than Emerson who wisely said, "Truth is beautiful, without doubt; but so are lies." What you have here is thr "why". Painfully insightful. Thanks.

so much said in such short lines, it's amazing what we need sometimes, and how poetry can often give us much more than that...well done...peace, jewels

The lie, the much prettier sister of truth, easier to look at but harder to hold. Well said well said.........

Well thought out Joan, one must talk to you to lie even, it would be nice to know that they are your choice of lie though...

yes, we all need to trick our selves to feel alive.

The "truth" vs "lies" - when it comes to our own ability to cope, the line seems thin. The truth of the lies is that we all seem to live them. Very poignant piece indeed Joan, emotionally gripping.
