slippery stair by Melinda Sordinospiraling out of control
down the long dark stair.
you know where you are going
and ultimately just don't care.
you look at others
wishing for a voice,
wishing that you could ask for
just one more chance.
but when you don't love yourself
you can't really love anyone else.
and so you are guarded,
always hiding your true self
behind the facade that
aways threatens to crack.
as you slide down the staircase
and are picking up speed
you place you fingers against the
slimy creepy walls,
like the moss that grows over your soul.
and you know that there's no climbing back up
there's no light at the end of this tunnel.
you will simply grow smaller
and more insignificant
though trying to compensate
with sexy clothes and
seductive ways until you
until you disappear. 10/02/2006 Posted on 10/03/2006 Copyright © 2024 Melinda Sordino
