triple tide

by Kimberly Bare

September 25, 2006

tommorow is my last day as a twenty-something
then i come into my third decade,
30 years on this earth, in this life
i must look ahead with hopeful eyes
even while harboring a jaded heart

the last 15 years have been a blur
a whirlwind of emotions and events
that have led me to this place, this moment in time

i am ready for the next 15 to be an adventure
more soul satisfying and serene
the best years of my life lay before me
and i march forward, eager and cautious, for whatever awaits me

Author's Note: my birthday is wednesday...this is me trying to avoid the turning 30 blues...

Happy Birthday! 30 something ain't old at all...young compared to say 50 something no? I remember these blues myself, and would gladly take them back now.....
