sheltering sea

by Peter Humphreys

I lie
in bed
lost
in a
world
of
memories
and
voices
my carer
comes
yet her
soft voice
heals not
the pain
of parting
for as
my mind
and
inner space
are filled
with
harmony
and
grace
I
know
that
though
my time
is
not
yet
come
calm
I am
as
calm
can be
as if
in the
lee
of a
sheltering
sea
after storm
we
kiss
and curlews
mark
the shore
with
solitary cries
of
home
all's quiet
now
all's
gone

Beautiful words. Beautiful flow. Love the form you've chosen to present this in. Very nicely done.

We all need to seek our "sheltering seas", like a sad self-preservation. Wonderful words, Peter. Thanks.
