Nostalgia by Jane E PearceI'll miss the leaves in town-
as lovely in their fall colors
as any Vermont vista .
.
I'll miss the new snow
on the blue spruce, white
skirts dancing in a north wind,
surrounding my nest.
.
I'll miss it all, along
with the young body
I used to carry, along
with the young passions
that used to consume.
.
Why didn't someone tell
me to put those precious
times in a safe where
I could take them out,
and play with them again? 09/09/2006 Posted on 09/09/2006 Copyright © 2026 Jane E Pearce

| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 09/10/06 at 11:15 PM Jane, this is so beautiful. I've got tears in my eyes. Yes, don't we all regret the things we could have done and what we'll miss when we're gone. You express it so simply and beautifully. I often look around and think about the things I'll miss too.
