The Nature of Dreams

by Joe Cramer

I have dreams
Naked, empty dreams
Of walls painted black
In small rooms
With alabaster light fixtures,
Naked bulbs hanging from them.

I have dreams
Of your creamy white skin
And long, lustrious hair
Hanging above me
Watching you shudder
As you mount me
Moaning my name.

I have dreams
That go nowhere,
While going everywhere.
I have dreams of you
That I cannot share
With anyone but you.
I have dreams when with you.

I'm sitting here wishing some guy was saying these words to me in a room painted black with alabaster fixtures. The imagery you create holds the emotional tone of the poem.
