Pleasant afternoon dreams
In front of computer screens
Blind to beige office scenes
Mind chasing mountain streams.

Up the road children grow
Uniform in a dandy row
Large eyes of the doe
How they do love to crow.

Down the road mother weeps
Ice tea she’s learned to steep
Black tree cockroaches creep
To the bed in which she sleeps.

Frightful morning wonderings
Of lonely not so fond things
Mind escapes on conned wings
To better sail a sea of ponderings.
