Come and Grow Old

by Alison McKenzie

Listen to the call from my dreams
Like you do
Reach for me from across the miles
Time and space that does not exist
In our world
A world for us two
Where we fly to dance
Dance to sing
Sing to slumber
And dream
Call to me from our dreams

Build me a place in your home
Right next to yours
Our spirits blending in vibrations
Soaring through universes unseen
With these eyes
Our eyes
Our life
Our children
One voice
One world
Unity in our home
Build me a place in our home

Make love to me in your bed
Caressing skin and breath
Of love and joy
Laughter ringing
Crescendos of infinite ecstasy
Rushing to shore the way we always do
Tidal waves of our rhythms
Bending the moon and stars
Closer, closer
Make love to me in our bed

Come and grow old with me in my garden
In a world gone mad without passion
But for us
The passion grows
In our smiles and love
The soil of our laughterÂ’s rain soaking in
Deeper, deeper still
Until every root is saturated with us
And us with every root
Come and grow old with me in our garden
