fear

by Peter Humphreys

blue lights
flash
and
pulse
through
clinging
clanking
clanging
night
as we
turn
into
darkness
utter
darkness
unlit
unmarked
unmade
stumbling
fumbling
eye blinding
darkness
complete
the sort
that makes
your stomach
empty as
you grip
my hand so
hard
so hard
bones
crack
and
veins
cry
must
we escape
this night
or die
fear
we
think
we
know
fear
this
is
fear

Gripping. I think you left out "gripping". So I'll contribute that; this fear is gripping.
