Ash by Ash

by Jane E Pearce

I heard the service was lovely,

many  friends and accolades to your life.

.

Did you get my flowers-the yellow roses?

The card that said"see you on the other side

of the mountain?"

.

Your antique Mercedes parked outside

the funeral  home, the brass band

playing Joplin- as you wanted.

.

Then they told me you were cremated.

Cremated??? Those shining blue eyes

forever grey marbles  under the heat.

.

The hands that wove gold tapestry

on the keyboard reduced to dry talc

under three thousand degrees.

.

I shall come to your Niche, carry off your urn,

reassemble those blue eyes and every lash,

rebuild those hands that wove music,

erect every part of you ash by ash, by ash.

Hi Jane. Yes, it may be sad, but great poetics. IMHO!
