walking by
the river side
you cast a
glance
as if to
hide
I wonder
if you
are afraid
to make
your feelings
known
and
as we turn
to lean
upon the wall
a squall
of wind
at first
quite small
gathers power
and
before we know
the rain
falls down
upon our cheeks
as sheltering
against my
body keeps
you warm
and safe
and whole
you look up
and
I look down
and never
a moment
nor a frown
could capture
this loving
magic
