Sister

by Alison McKenzie

Outside this human domain
Dwells the soul of ancient gardens
Berries sweet and tangy
Centuries grown
The call of your touch so close, so close
We were one
Now differentiated by
Separate bodies and time, space
But no separation of matter
Can ever be the truth

Warriors in parallel battles
I adore you, my sister
Twin flames that arc across
Worlds and wind
Of love divine
We walk paths intertwined
Always loving
Always protecting
Ourselves, our hearts
Each other

What is separation
But air between rooms, outside
The scent of your dark hair mingling
With the scent of my sage and sweetgrass
It is all one
We more than most know
All that is
We are
And I, and you too.

Keep walking your sacred path, dear one
Hold my hand now and until the end of time
My dark to your light
Your rain to my wind
Voices in harmony and dissonance
You and I
Forever bonded in the hall of eternity
Our love survives
Our love will see us though and through
Triumph over that which is not again.

Great read- makes me wish that My sister and I were closer. I loved the "Author's note"- very loving and heartwarming. I hope you two always remain close!
