Crushed Chrysalis by Delilah CoyneThe
fragile
promise
of beauty
lies crushed
on the earth,
moving slighty
with each breath
of summer breeze.
Paper-like shell,
so easily rent,
reveals wet
closed
wings
Never to unfurl 08/29/2006

Posted by Angela Nuzzo on 08/30/06 at 06:08 AM Oh my god! This is beautiful. Such a simple image, in just a few lines, set in the concrete poem form shaped like the chrysalis. It packs a wallop. |
