...ol' new o'lens ...

by Charlie Morgan

katrina was a year ago, and he sang of her today. when his guitar twanged, and the harmonica broke-in

chill bumps jostled the air in front of me,
as the sound pierced through it, then my ears.
a harmoniously beautiful wail of tragedy
stabbed my heart with a crying smile.

Loved this! The music in New Orleans is haunting. Everywhere you go, the flows are captivating. Even to drums on the levy. Beautiful write.

I like the idea that even the air has been affected by the tragedy & reacts to the music that it probably remembers & misses. Very nice.
