You slowly see the sky change
Pale blues sinking into deep reds and purples
Drowning into deep inky black
The dotted with the shimmering of stars
And the glow of a new light

Creep crawling it moves over the hours
Dark blackness fading into light hues of greys
Back into bright reds and polarising light
Then into the soft azure again
Flitted with whisps of white

You look back as you've done it again
And wish you could just this once fall asleep
