the beauty is the first thing to cinder by Vere MantratriadI thought, I think, I know
the fires you set, they were beautiful
but fire consumes all it touches and
my oxygen got burned up along with
every brain cell that might have
warned me to slow it down,
just slow it down some
and Ive got a match
youve got the timber
if we could only make it to the light
but we never made it that far
and oh, its not fair what my mind does
when a glance translates to a kiss and
oh, what I wouldnt do for a kiss these days
so youll keep your glances moving elsewhere
and Ill keep my thoughts to myself
and well both stay away from the flames
that others would find unbearably warm
but still well stay cold where were both
untouchable and unsaid, unassuming and
un anything else. 08/25/2006 Posted on 08/26/2006 Copyright © 2025 Vere Mantratriad
