Dragonfly

by Barbara Griffith

Your tiny wings struggle
in vain against the glass
meant to keep my strong
form from the elements.

It only serves as an obstacle
in the way of your
carefree way of life.

I'd remove the glass
from your world,
if you would only
teach me to fly
from mine.

Hi Barbara, Great write and kinda sad too. Sometimes short and sweet is all it takes. Dragonflies has it rough sometimes. They sure can fly fast.
