When God Speaks to Me

by Diane Paley Davis

He speaks to me in His still small voice
The God of all creation
His silent whisper in my ear
Catches my attention mid the din of the day
"Yes, Lord, yes," I utter
In awe of His presence so near to me
"Yes, Lord, here am I"
Down on my knees, I pray
When God speaks to me
I'm reassured of His love for me
I know He hears my prayers
The world around me may crumble
And yet I know I am safe from all harm
He wraps me in His Holy Spirit
And protects me from the enemy’s snares
He shields me from temptations
Day and night He guards my soul
I hear His words inside my head
Heavenly thoughts He puts in my mind
He counsels me and tells me
What I need to know
God speaks to me in His still small voice
And when God speaks to me
I listen.

I add an amen to that Diane. Sometimes God talks to us through others! I needed this gentle reminder. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Diane, This is beautiful and I second that AMEN. Great write. Yes, he does speak to us in many ways. Just some people refuse to listen or believe. I added this to my favorites list.

Amen to this! I like it when God is angry with me. That is when I learn the most. Good thing he loves me so much or I would really be in trouble.
