"Greenhouse Effect in Retrospect"

by Max Phineas

Staring into the sunset
A glimpse of the future catches my eye:

Great Cities immersed.
Destruction, a reality faced by all.
Few living, none truly alive.

Spirits in Limbo.

An Arctic Winter
A summer to end all seasons.

A moon, shattered, crashes into the endless ocean.

And as the end of Earth seems inevitable,
I fall back into the present, eyes wide open.

They tell you not stare into the Sun,
For you will go blind.

Such hypocrites though, for they are blind already.
