Breaking down honesty

by Jared Fladeland

honesty.
let me take a moment and examine thee.

Hone.
To lock-in on with precision-laser suicidal bomber razor sharp accuracy.
I spend hours upon hours working on my articulation because I tend to mumble.
One could say I'm honing my ability to express myself verbally.

One.
A singular being.
To think that I am the one who could save the human race is selfish,
therefore I should never think that I am "the one."

Nest.
a home for birds and eagles.
I once picked up a small hatchling that had fallen from a nest,
and it looked a few days old, but it had been frying on the sidewalk
like a poor man's scrambled egg.

Sty.
a place where the common politician goes to discuss barters and embargos.
Washington, D.C., along with the House of Lords and the Kremlin,
are some of the largest sties on the face of the Earth.

Think about breaking down Honesty the next time you strive to achieve a sense of honesty in your work.
