Timeless

by Christopher Shin

Today I can see
the blue sky in
the very little
images of you.

Tomorrow you'll say
I was being naive,
but I know deep down
that you dream about
the same thing to.

Yesterday I was aware
that you seem to be
a little sad.
And each tear
makes me want to
hold you close.

Friday you said
you'll never give
up on your hopes,
but Monday it seems
you just don't care
anymore.

Even those you love
seem so dead to you
on a Saturday afternoon.
All your life you are
gone inside that small
little head of yours.

Years seem to slow
as you throw silver
through you hair.
Yet I know deep down
that we are all the
same in the core.

Days seem lost,
but I hold a piece
of broken hope inside,
and I know that you'll
be wise as I stand and
stare at you in the mirror.

Seconds seem like eons
as tears of sadness glisten
down in your misery of
shattered memories of
waisted times you lost
inside.

So I'll hold you and
you'll hold me back
as I grow angry at the world.
Yet all I know that you'll
be there as loyality is
stained on your brow.

In the end we will sit
broken and confused
as our bodies die,
but I'll hold myself
up and be forever alone
in my own soul and body
in life.
