09. ancient paths by Peter Humphreyson ancient
stones
on ancient
paths
we wind
our way
together
as swallows
swerve
and bats
bat by
the sun
sets down
its fury
and finger
pines
shelter
our hopes
from
rising winds
below us
on ancient
stones
on ancient
paths
we sit
within our
present
as past
sunsets
and
future
dawns
await
the past
and
present 07/29/2006 Posted on 07/31/2006 Copyright © 2024 Peter Humphreys

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 08/04/06 at 01:13 PM A wonderful start to this August morning...
I love anything with the Ancients inside...
This is my favorite for today, forever e'en.
Thank you, o poet Peter! Thank you for this gift. |
