All I wanted in this life
forever to be by your side.
All the love I felt for you
could no longer be denied.
I tried to tell my heart
you are only a friend.
Each time I saw you
my heart broke again.
Never was it meant to be
you and I, as man and wife.
So I place myself in exile
away from you for life.
You were made for another
it's there for all to see.
I know in my heart
you can never love me.
